Reopening Face to Face 2021

What a whirlwind few months we've had in 2021!

We are very excited to reopen face-to-face music lessons at Leaders of Rock HQ, and we understand you may have some questions on how we will reopen safely.

Here is a list of our COVID-19 safety procedures observed in our studio:

1. Our staff is double vaccinated against COVID-19, and their certificates will be displayed at the studio.

2. Only double vaccinated patrons are only allowed to enter the studio for their lesson. In the case of no vaccination, Leaders of Rock has the right to refuse entry. Upon entering, the patron must show their vaccination status through their digital certificate on the Service Victoria app.

3. All students, parents, and staff will take off their shoes upon entering the premises.

4. All students are to use the following QR Code to register and check-in. The QR Code is also displayed on the premises.

5. All students, parents, and staff will wash their hands after entering the premises.

6. Everyone is to maintain a physical distance of 1.5m before, during, and after lessons - an adult kangaroo's length!

7. During lessons, windows and doors will be open to assist airflow and ventilation.

8. Masks are to be worn by all staff and students over 12-years-old.

9. During instruction, staff and students may remove masks when necessary and practical. Students under 12-years-old are encouraged to wear masks during face-to-face lessons where practical.

10. Anyone showing symptoms or feeling unwell will not be invited into the premises. They are encouraged to get tested for COVID-19.

11. All staff members must have no symptoms or have tested negative for COVID-19.

Term 4 2020 - Music Lessons Update

Dear family of Leaders of Rock,

What a wild year we have experienced as a music school community!

On behalf of our teachers, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your ongoing support of our music school.

The students, teachers and families in this community helped propel me through some very uncertain times this year, and I truly thank you for showing up, having fun on your instrument, and sharing this journey of learning music with Leaders of Rock.

With a new term comes a new easing of restrictions.

As the roadmap states for creative studios, we are allowed to open on a restricted capacity from October 19.

Please find below updates to our music lessons in Term 4 2020:

• Term 4 2020 starts on Monday 5 October - Friday 18 December 2020 and includes a concert via Zoom. Bookmark the dates in your calendar on our events page.

• Monday October 19 - Term 4 Week 3 - is the expected return for face-to-face music lessons at Leaders of Rock studio, provided that there are 5 cases of COVID-19 or less over the period of 14 days in Victoria. This means that the start of the term will be online lessons for all students. Students can also choose to remain online for the rest of the year past October 26. If this seems like your preferred option, please email me back.

• We will first operate with a COVID-19 safe plan that is identical to our response during our 1st wave of easing restrictions. Summary: take off shoes, wash hands, maintain distance during lessons, wear masks, stay in car during drop off and pick up (parents). A staged approach (one room open at a time) will be considered closer to the date. Read more above.

COVID-19 Update: Term 3 2020 Music Lessons

We made it through the first wave. 
So we can make it through the second wave!

Thank you everyone for being understanding and sticking with this music school. 
We all hope that you have ample amounts of rest in these holidays after such a busy term in Term 2.

In light of recent announcements of Victoria’s restrictions, we are returning to online music lessons in Term 3 2020. Only when it is safe to do so, and Stage 3 Restrictions are lifted, shall we return to face to face music lessons. 
.
Here’s what you need to know: 

• Term 3 2020 starts next week for all Leaders of Rock music students week commencing Monday 13 July. 

• Term 3 2020 ends Saturday 19 September 2020

• All students who have not tried an online lesson before, may sit two free trial lessons with their teacher to see if it suits. It is only fair, as last term’s cohort got the same deal. 

• We’re so much more experienced as online music teachers! Lesson quality will be just as good 😃 We are so ready to teach you!

• Instruments / accessories : I am going on a shopping trip for work on Saturday to the music store. Let me know if you need any instruments to start your lessons - picks, straps, drum practice pads, drum sticks, keyboards etc. I’ll get it for you, deliver to your door and you can pay me back 😃
